Knowing what to look for when seeking the right door can help ensure you get the best of both worlds. There are two factors to consider during your search for the right door.

The type of glass is key in trapping warm or cool temperatures. Energy efficient glass is designed to weatherize without impacting the clarity of the glass. The associated R-value associated with a pane of glass indicates how resistant the glass is to heat flow. High energy efficient glass should have an R-value of at least 4.0 to resist the heat exchange in the cold Canadian winters and increasingly hotter summers.

With the proper glass, you need the proper lining to maximize energy efficiency. This is achieved with CSA-approved weatherstripping. This weatherstripping helps to keep the cold out in the winter and to keep the heat out during the summer.
